7 engineers transferred for poor electricity supply in Uttarakhand

Regarding the poor supply of power, the energy secretary directed the removal of seven engineers of Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani and Udhamsinghnagar with immediate effect. Also, she instructed to remove the engineers who were in one place, for the last five years. Transfers till linemen will be done in the next seven days. Power secretary Radhika Jha reviewed several points including electricity theft, line loss, revenue recovery on Wednesday at the UPCL headquarters. During this period, she expressed strong displeasure after giving orders regarding uninterrupted supply, negligence in non-full recovery of power. On the poor supply, she issued transfer orders for Roorkee ASE Amit Sharma, ASE Shekhar Chandra Tripathi of Haldwani, EE Yudhveer Singh of Haridwar SIDCUL, EE Mohan Mittal of Mohanpur, EE Anup Saini of Roorkee Nagar, EE Vijay Kumar Singh of Dehradun North, Sashikant SDO of Haridwar SIIDCUL. Jha chided the management for not transferring engineers working at one place. Also, transfer orders would be released for AE-JE working at a particular place for more the 5 years. All Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Linemen were asked to do the transfer within seven days. She warned that there should not be any change in the deadline of transfers.

Action instructions on Chief Engineer

The officers were reprimanded on the slow inquiry of the power supply in the field. In case of not meeting the targets of checking, she also directed to take action against the Chief Engineers.

Transfers of engineers done late in the night

After the order of the Energy Secretary, several transfers were carried out including seven engineers late at night. Among them were Roorkee ASE Amit Sharma, ASE Shekhar Chandra Tripathi of Haldwani, EE Yudhveer Singh of Haridwar SIDCUL, EE Mohan Mittal of Mohanpur, EE Anup Saini of Roorkee Nagar, EE Vijay Kumar Singh of Dehradun North, Sashikant SDO of Haridwar SIIDCUL.

Adverse entry will also be made on poor power supply

Secretary Jha said that the engineers who will not be able to normalize power supply in their areas, action will be taken against them. An adverse entry will be given in their annual confidential statement. On the other hand, the Secretary  during the inspection of the Power Consumer Service Center, SCADA Center, also reprimanded the officials for not paying heed to the consumer complaints.

Complaints of poor power supply will be taken against the engineers. It will be mentioned in the annual CR.
