Cabinet approves DA hike from 17 to 28 percent

More than 1.2 crore central employees and pensioners were waiting for their increased dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for a long time, which is over now. Today, in the meeting chaired by PM Modi, a big decision has been taken to restore dearness allowance. With this decision of the Modi government, smiles will again return to the faces of the employees and pensioners.

Approval to increase DA from 17% to 28%

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval has been given to reinstate the dearness allowance which has been pending for the last one and a half years. Central employees will now get dearness allowance at the rate of 28%, which till now was getting at the rate of 17%. That is, the employees of the central government will now get 11% more dearness allowance.

DA was stopped due to Corona

Due to Corona epidemic, the Central Government had banned dearness allowance of central government employees and dearness relief from pensioners since last year. Central employees are to get dearness allowance for January 2020, July 2020, January 2021 and July 2021. The central government had earlier increased dearness allowance by 4 percent in January 2020. Again this year in June 2020, DA was further increased by 3 percent. After this, 4% DA was increased in January 2021. In such a situation, the total increase was 11%, which will now be available to the employees of the Central Government. These three arrears of dearness allowance will be given to the employees in three installments.

How much DA will increase in July

However, the government has not taken any decision regarding the DA of July. It is believed that DA may increase by 3 percent in July. If this happens, then the total dearness allowance will be 31%. Central government employees will start getting the increased dearness allowance from September.

National Ayush Mission will continue

Apart from this, many other decisions have been taken in the cabinet. It has been decided in the cabinet that it has been decided to continue the National AYUSH Mission from 2021 till the year 2025-26. 4607 crore will be spent on this. Under this scheme 12,000 Ayush Welfare Health Centers will be opened. The infrastructure of 101 AYUSH hospitals of 50 beds will be strengthened.
