E-Com companies asked to display company of origin

The central government has issued orders to e-commerce companies, advancing the campaign for boycott of Chinese products. The government has now asked all companies to give information about the country of origin of the products sold on their website, ie in which country the product is made. In such a situation, websites like Flipkart, Amazon will now have to tell about the country of the product.

DPIIT of the Ministry of Commerce has instructed e-commerce companies to follow this rule from 1 August. This means that from August 1, it will be mandatory to tell the country of origin on whatever products will be sold on these websites.

Companies asked for time with the government

However, companies have written a letter to the government asking for some time to do so. They say that they will take some time to follow this rule. At the same time, this step will make it difficult for Chinese companies and distributors selling products. This is because till now companies did not have to give information about which country the product is made.

According to an official in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, preparations have been made to surround China. For this, China will be hurt the most on the economic front. For this, a full blueprint has also been prepared by the government. With this, there will be a strict investigation of Chinese companies before coming to India.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) has told the government that products sold by online companies should also mention in which country they are made.
