Supplementary budget of 2533 crores tabled in winter assembly session

On the second day of the winter session, the government presented the first supplementary budget of 2533.90 crore in the Vidhan Sabha. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madan Kaushik presented the supplementary budget on the Table of the House. Of the supplementary budget presented in the Legislative Assembly, 1606 crore has been kept in revenue head while 927 crore has been kept in capital item. The government passed the budget of 48,663 crore in the assembly in February for the financial year 2019-20. After this, the first supplementary budget of 2533.90 crores has been presented in the winter session.

In the supplementary budget presented in the House on Thursday, the budget has been made for several new schemes along with the residual funds for the already ongoing development plans. In the budget, a provision of 166 crores has been made for the salaries of the employees while 37.18 crores has been provided in the pension head. 848 crore has been made for centrally aided schemes running in the state, 20 crore for marginal area development, 70 crore for World Bank assisted rural drinking water and environmental sanitation project. Under the Right to Education Act, a provision of Rs 107 crore has been made in the supplementary budget for reimbursement of school dues. A provision of 40 crores has been made in the supplementary budget for the construction of state universities and government colleges. 75 crore has been provided for construction of houses in rural areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
