Over 2200 healthcare workers vaccinated in Uttarakhand on day 1 of Corona vaccine drive

The vaccination was successful on Saturday in Uttarakhand for the prevention of corona virus. On the first day, 72 percent health workers were given vaccine doses of the target 3178 at all 34 booths in the state. A total of 2276 health workers were vaccinated. While 28 percent of the health workers did not reach the vaccine venue.

At the same time, a 46-year-old female cleaning worker at Roorkee Civil Hospital has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh due to difficulty in breathing after being vaccinated. The woman is a heart patient.

Covid vaccination drive was launched from 34 booths in 13 districts of the state on Saturday. It included 31 government hospitals, AIIMS Rishikesh including Himalayan hospital and Sri Mahant Indiresh Hospital with vaccine doses to health workers on the first day.

Immunization observers took over the booths from eight in the morning. Vaccines were transported to booths at the district level from cold chain point. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat from Doon Medical College launched Covid vaccination in the state. According to the instructions issued by the central government, vaccination was started at all booths at 10:30 AM and health workers were vaccinated till 5 PM.

State Nodal Officer and Mission Director NHM Sonika informed that vaccination campaign has been started in 34 booths of the state. In which 2276 vaccines were applied against a target of 3178 health workers. Till 5 pm, 72 percent vaccination was done across the state. She said that the health workers were vaccinated according to a message sent to health workers registered through the Co-Win portal.

50 percent health workers will be vaccinated in the first phase

In the first phase, 87588 health workers of the state are to be covered with Covid vaccine. But the Center has received 1.13 lakh covishield vaccines from Serum Institute. A health worker is to be given two doses of the vaccine. Based on this, 50 thousand health workers will be vaccinated. Health workers who have been given their first dose of vaccine. It is mandatory to give them a second dose within 28 days.

Anti body started after 14 days of second dose of vaccine

Antibodies will not start forming in the body as soon as the Covid vaccine is introduced. Rather it will take about 42 days for the antibody to be formed. Antibodies will start forming within 14 days of the second dose within 28 days. Till then the person getting the vaccine will also have to follow the rules of Covid.

Covid vaccine to be available only four days a week

According to the guidelines issued by the Center, vaccination will be done in Uttarakhand four days a week. In this, the days of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday have been fixed. Vaccination will not be held at any booth on Sunday, January 17.

969 health workers received vaccine in Kumaon

The vaccination started from Saturday across the country, 969 people were vaccinated in the first phase against a target of 1478 people in 15 centers of Kumaon in the Mahabhiyan. Out of 400, 265 health workers were vaccinated on the first day at four centers in Udham Singh Nagar. Of these, 80 were vaccinated in Khatima, 76 in Kashipur, 59 in Bajpur and 50 in Rudrapur.

In Almora district, 143 out of 200 people were vaccinated. 72 were vaccinated at Almora Base Hospital, while 71 people were vaccinated at Hawalbagh CHC. In Bageshwar district 110 out of 200 people were vaccinated. Here 60 people were vaccinated in the district hospital and 50 in the CMO office.

In Champawat, 159 out of 200 people were vaccinated. Here, 80 people were vaccinated in Tanakpur and 76 in Champawat. 113 people were vaccinated in Pithoragarh district. In Pithoragarh District Hospital, 63 were vaccinated against 85 and in Women’s Hospital 50 were vaccinated.

In Nainital district, 179 health workers among 300 people got vaccinated. 66 health workers at the BD Pandey Hospital, 73 at the Government Medical College and 40 at the Women’s Hospital got the corona vaccine administered.
