ITI fees hiked in Uttarakhand

If the students of the state are hoping to take admission in the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), then they will have to shell out some extra bucks. The state government has made some increase by revising the age-old fee structure of the Industrial Training Institute.

The cabinet meeting in Almora on Wednesday approved the proposal for increase in fees. Before the Cabinet’s decision, a student who did ITI had to pay a fee of only Rs 40 per month, which has now been increased to Rs 325 per month. This increased fee will be charged annually at Rs 3900 per student. It also contains 300 caution money which will be refunded later. Students studying various trades of ITI will have to pay one thousand rupees as computer and training fee. The reason and justification for the increase in the annual fee was also explained in detail in the cabinet. The government has argued over the fee hike that ITI fees in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh are higher than in Uttarakhand. Fees has been increased in state industrial training institutes to increase the quality of industrial training institutes of the state and to provide facilities to trainees.

The government has also fixed the fees of the students using the hostel of the institute after taking admission in ITI. A student will now have to spend 3900 rupees for staying in hostel. Together, the government has argued that the facilities of the students in the hostel have also been taken care of.
