Temperatures drop after fresh snowfall in Mussoorie

Weather changed again in Uttarakhand on Friday morning. Clouds and fog were prevalent in many places, and mild sunshine elsewhere relieved the cold. Snowfall started in Mussoorie and Dhanaulti late in the afternoon. Due to which the faces of tourists have blossomed. Due to light snowfall in Mussoorie, the temperature has dropped drastically. Due to snowfall, the local people are having trouble. At the same time, tourists are enjoying the snowfall.

Snowfall again in low-lying areas including Char Dham

After three days of pleasant weather, the weather in the mountain has changed again. High altitude areas including Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri Hemkund Sahib again received heavy snowfall. There was heavy snowfall from 11 am in Kedarnath, Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Chopta in Rudraprayag district, which continued till evening.

It is being told that one to one and a half feet of new snow has accumulated at these places, while there is already a lot of snow. More than 20 villages, including the district’s high-altitude villages Goundar, Ransi, Toshi, Triyuginarayan, Jhoshi, Chillaund, Chaumasi, have received light snowfall.

On the other hand, high altitude areas including Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Ghangharia, Gauras Bugyal, Auli, Rudranath located in Chamoli district received snowfall, while rains in the lower areas are again freezing. Meanwhile, Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham located in Uttarkashi district including Harsil, Bhatwadi, Kharsali etc. also received heavy snowfall. Also, due to rain and hail storms in the lower areas, the outbreak of cold has increased.

Landslide demolishes 50 meters of Badrinath highway, road closed

During the construction of All Weather Road on Badrinath Highway, 50 meters of the highway has collapsed due to heavy landslide near Nandprayag on Thursday evening. Along with this, three houses have been razed to the ground and three vehicles were buried in debris.

During this time, people standing near the highway somehow saved their lives. There is no loss of life due to landslide, but movement of many villages has stopped. At the same time, Nandprayag-Devkhal road under NH was also closed due to debris. The Public Works Department team is engaged in smoothing the way.

Ten feet of snow still in Badrinath

Badrinath Dham is still covered with snow due to heavy snowfall this year. There is about eight to ten feet of snow here. The route is also covered with snow. This season has been continuously snowing since December, due to which Badrinath Dham is covered with snow.

Not only the Badrinath temple but the entire market is under a white blanket. The snow has started to melt due to clear weather for a few days, but there is still so much snow that it will take a long time to completely melt. If there is snow again, a large amount of snow can remain there until the doors of the dham open.
