First time in Uttarakhand: Case registered for throwing garbage in public place

Dumping garbage at public place in Uttarakhand, can now land you in jail. In this case, the Act was implemented in February -2017, but its compliance was done one year later. Under the law, there is a provision of a six-month sentence or a fine of five thousand rupees. Accordingly, the municipal corporation Dehradun has filed a lawsuit against the three employees of a restaurant in Dehradun for allegedly throwing garbage in public place. Police seized the restaurant car and arrested the three. The three were LaterĀ  were released on bail.

Municipal commissioner Vijay Kumar Jogdande told that special cleanliness campaign is being started in the city under Clean India Mission. During this time, it was found that some restaurant and hotel vehicles were spreading dirt by dumping the garbage in empty places in late night in the city.

Late night the municipal cleaning inspector Rajveer Singh was stationed in Dilaram Bazar in the night cleanliness duty. During this time a white van turned the waste over an empty plot next to the secretariat. The team caught the van and three people present there. The Commissioner told that the police were called on the spot and the accused and the van were handed over to them.
