MBBS student protest pay hike in Dehradun
The protest of MBBS students of SGRR Medical College against the fee hike continued for the second day. On Wednesday, the parents and guardians also sat on the dais with the students at college gate. Apart from this, students of MD and MS also supported the movement.
The fee for MBBS was increased in Dehradun Shri Guru Ram Rai Medical College. Fees which earlier was four lakhs of each year, now has been hiked up to Rs 19 lakhs. On Tuesday, as soon as the students got notice of fees hike, they started protesting. Students have started an indefinite strike on the gate. College MBBS students received notice of fee hike on Tuesday.
Angry students have gathered at the Medical College Gate shouting slogans from around 10 in the morning on Tuesday morning. There were also slogans written against the government in the hands of the students. Students said that they do not have the means to pay for such steep fee hike. Students have said that till the decision of the fees increases is not withdrawn, they will not return to the classes. Students are protesting peacefully on the gate.
