Uttarakhand Assembly Session: Supplementary budget passed, total budget size 88728 crores

The session of the Uttarakhand Assembly was adjourned indefinitely on Friday. On the third day of the session, the government got 11 bills passed by voice vote, including the Uttarakhand Appropriation (Supplementary 2023-2024) Bill. The proceedings of the assembly continued till late night.

While passing the department-wise supplementary grant demands for the financial year 2023-24, the government made a provision of Rs 11321 crore in the supplementary bill. In this, a provision of Rs 3530 crore has been made for revenue and Rs 7790 crore for capital. After the approval of the supplementary budget, the total budget size of the state has become Rs 88728 crore. Apart from this, the government also passed 11 out of 12 bills presented in the House. The 10 percent horizontal reservation bill for the state agitators and their dependents on direct recruitment posts in government service was sent to the Select Committee.

11 bills passed in the House by voice vote

On the third day of the assembly session, which lasted till late night, 11 bills were passed by voice vote in the House. This includes Uttarakhand Road Structure Safety Amendment Bill, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technology, University Amendment Bill, Uttarakhand Joint Provincial Guard Act Amendment Bill, Uttarakhand Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Settlement Act Amendment Bill, Uttarakhand Goods and Services Tax Amendment Bill, Uttarakhand Investment And based Structure Development and Regulation Bill, Uttarakhand Repeal Bill, Uttarakhand Shaheed Dependent Ex-gratia Grant Amendment Bill, State University Bill, Uttarakhand Uttar Pradesh Advocate Welfare Fund Act Amendment Bill, Private University Bill were passed.
