The Algerian government has banned the Internet in the country to deal with imitation. This restriction will continue till June 25. High school examinations have begun in Algeria since Wednesday. The government has stopped both the mobile and fixed line of internet service. To stop cheating in any way, the internet will be closed one hour before the start of each high school diploma examination.
In these exams, seven lakh students will participate in Algeria. Algiri Telecom said that according to the orders of the government, the internet service was stopped so that high school diploma test could be completed without obstruction. He told that during this time, mobile and fixed internet stops throughout the country for two hours.
During the year 2016 there was extensive cases of cheating. In 2016, the question papers were leaked to social media before the examination. As a result, the authorities asked Internet service providers to stop social media access in 2017, but it did not matter. Education Minister, Nouria Benghabrit said that during 20-25 June Facebook will remain closed throughout the country.
