Nifty slips below 16000 level; over 6 lakh crore investor wealth wiped off

There is a huge decline in the stock market on the first trading day of the week i.e. Monday. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex lost 1,161 points to open at 53,172. After this, it has come down by 1,708 points to 52,625 at 10.20 am. However, after this the Sensex recovered a bit and at 11.30 it reached 53,042. Out of its 30 stocks, 26 are down. On the other hand, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange is trading down 350 points at 15,895.

Over Rs 6 lakh crore loss to investors

Due to the huge fall in the market, the investors are suffering huge losses. When the market closed on Friday, the capitalization of companies listed on the BSE was Rs 2,46,79,421 crore. At the same time, as soon as the market opened on Monday, the capitalization of listed companies has come down to about 2,40,78,200 crores. In this way, investors have lost more than Rs 6 lakh crore in the shock.

Big drop on Friday

Earlier, there was a huge fall in the stock market on Friday as well. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex fell 366 points (0.66%) to 55,102 and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty lost 108 points (0.55%) to close at 16,498.

Dollar reaches all time high

Today the rupee opened with a weakness of 77 paise at Rs 76.93 against the dollar. At the same time, on Friday, the rupee closed at Rs 76.16 with a weakness of 25 paise against the dollar. The rupee has depreciated by 3.60% so far this year.

The rupee has depreciated by 3.60% this year and has touched a lifetime low of 77.02 against the dollar. According to experts, the rupee can go to the level of 78.
