ITR filing deadline extended to 31st August 2018

The income tax department has increased the deadline of filing ITRs by one month. The Central Government has given time till August 31 to fill the ITR.

The Finance Ministry has given this information. The Finance Ministry said that the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the final date for filing income tax returns. For the sake of related categories of tax payers, it has been extended from 31st July to 31st August. In this way tax payers now have another month. You do not have to do any haste during this time and you can comfortably fill your income tax return.
You can fill income tax returns both online and offline. To fill the ITR, you have to prepare all documents related to your income. This includes form 16, bank account details, interest certificates and loan details.

However, also remember that this time, if you file the ITR date, you can be subjected to a huge fine. If you do not fill the ITR on or before the due date, you can be fined up to 5 thousand rupees.

Apart from this, you can also be issued notice under different sections of the Income Tax Act. Therefore, during the filling of the ITR, all the information related to your income must be given. If you are the salaried, then you have to fill ITR1 or a simple form.
