An aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed just a few minutes after flying from Srinagar’s airport on Wednesday. In this accident a pilot and co-pilot of the air force became martyred. This accident happened in Rajouri, about half an hour after Pakistan’s air strikes in Poonch districts. At present, all six Air Force stations in Jammu and Kashmir are on high alert. In order to keep airspace free for fighter aircraft, the airport of Srinagar, Leh and Jammu has been closed for commercial flights.
Meanwhile, the fighter plane crashed in the morning at 10.40 am. Technical fault is being believed to be the reason behind the crash. This plane crashed in the fields in Grendalka village, seven kilometers away from Budgam due to a technical breakdown after the flight. Pilots and co-pilots died on the spot. Their bodies have been recovered. After this incident, the Indian Air Force has sent a team of experts to investigate the causes of the crash.
Meanwhile, all flights flying in the airspace have been reverted to Jammu and Kashmir. The planes ready to fly are halted. All commercial flights landing at the airport of Srinagar, Leh and Jammu have been diverted to Amritsar and Chandigarh Airport.
