Terrorist encounter in Handwara enters third day

Encounter is continued for the third day between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara. Firing stopped on Sunday morning. The search operation is being run by the security forces. In this encounter, four soldiers of the security force were martyred and two terrorists were reported to have been killed. At the moment, the body of the terrorists has not been found.

On Friday night, security forces were informed about the hideout of militants in a village in the area of ​​Handwara. After this the security forces surrounded the area. Firing from both sides continued on Saturday. After that, firing suddenly stopped. The security forces started the search operation in the hideout of the terrorists, only then the terrorists started firing again. Army Operation 22 RR, 92 battalion CRPF and SOG troops launched the search operation.

Two soldiers of CRPF, and two inspectors, of Jammu and Kashmir police personnel lost their lives in the sudden strike. After this the encounter started between the security forces and the terrorists, Para commandos were sent on the spot. It is being told that some terrorists are hiding in the residential area. Two home where the terrorists made their hideout have been damaged in the retaliation of the security forces. The search operation is currently underway.
