The British police on Wednesday made a sensational disclosure of 39 bodies found in a truck container near London. The truck is believed to have arrived from Bulgaria. Essex Police said those found at the scene at the industrial park in Grey’s East London have been declared dead. Preliminary indications suggest that 38 adults and one juvenile are among the dead.

A 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested on suspicion of murder. “It is a very tragic incident in which a large number of people lost their lives,” Chief Superintendent of Essex Police Andrew Mariner said in a statement. “We are investigating how the incident happened,” he said. Police said the ambulance service informed them after people were found inside a truck container at Waterglade Industrial Park.
