Atleast one dead as Japan braces for biggest typhoon in a century

The powerful hurricane Hagibis that hit Japan on Saturday is now moving towards the capital. One person died due to this storm. Due to its impact, before the storm came, there was heavy rain and more than 1.6 million people were asked to go to safe places. Transport and electricity services have also been affected due to the storm. This has also increased the possibility of landslides.

Already two matches of the Rugby World Cup had to be canceled due to the storm which was declared as severe. Due to this’ Suzuki Grand Prix was also disturbed and more than 1,600 aircraft could not fly. In Chiba, eastern Tokyo, one person died due to the storm. “A 49-year-old man was found in a overturned small truck,” Hiroki Yashiro, a spokesman for the Ichihara fire department in Chiba, told AFP. He was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead. “

The Meteorological Agency of Japan (JMA) said the storm is expected to reach a maximum speed of 216 kilometers per hour (134 mph) in central or eastern Japan on Saturday evening.
