Cold wave forecast in Uttarakhand for next 3 days
After the rain and snowfall, frost and fog have become a cause of trouble in the state. In the hilly areas where snow has increased slippery roads, dense fog is shifting in the plains in the morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning in Uttarakhand for the next three days.
The weather remained clear on Thursday after nearly 60 hours of rain and snowfall in the mountains across the state. Due to night frost in the mountainous areas, not only the cold increased but the snow on the roads has become dangerous.
The Meteorological Department has advised the tourists visiting the mountain to be very vigilant. Here, in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, the morning of Thursday started with thick fog.
No rain or snow
However, by around 11 pm, the heat of the sun dominated most places. Director of Meteorological Department Bikram Singh said that cold warning has been issued across the state for the next three days. In many places, dense fog can cause problems. He said that there is no possibility of rain or snowfall anywhere.
Relief during day, shivering in night
There was some relief from the cold due to sunny daylight throughout the state. The capital also recorded a rise of about eight degrees in temperature. However, as the evening unfurled, the cold again came to an extreme. The mercury went down. The night temperature in Doon too was recorded at four degrees.
The weather cleared in Uttarakhand on Thursday. However, people may face cold wave for the next three days. There may be sporadic rain in some places in the mountain, while three days of dense fog in the plains can cause trouble. After rain and snowfall for three days, people got sunshine in Dehradun, Mussoorie etc. areas as the weather cleared on Thursday. But the cold winds also caused chill in the afternoon. Director of Meteorological Center, Dr. Bikram Singh said that the weather will be clear on Friday as well, but the cold winds will blow. For the next two-three days, the temperature of morning and evening will be low. Due to this, there will be chill in the morning and evening. Regarding the snowfall, Dr. Bikram Singh said that in the year 2019 too, there was similar snowfall in the state on 21-22 January. In 2013, there was good snowfall in the low-lying areas.
