DAV PG college accredited with NAAC ‘B’ grade

DAV, one of the largest colleges in the state, has got B grade of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) after a long wait of 15 years. DAV will soon get a grant of two crore rupees from the National Higher Education Campaign. Earlier in the year 2004, the college got a B plus grade from NAAC.

DAV PG College received grading from NAAC in November 2004. After a fixed interval, the entire process is repeated but was not done here.

The DAV report was prepared after adding 70 percent of SSR report and 30 percent of inspection. On Thursday, NAAC announced DAV to be given a ‘B’ grade. NAAC Coordinator Dr. HS Randhawa, Dr. Prashant Singh, IQAC in-charge Dr. Prashant Sharma, Convenor Dr. Shikha Nagalia and Dr. Monisha Saxena congratulated the Principal for getting the NAAC grade.

This would be advantage

Higher educational institutions get grants from the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for their development. NAAC grade DBS PG College and SGRR PG College have received a grant of Rs 2 crore each from RUSA. Soon DAV will also get a grant of Rs 2 crore from RUSA.

“I congratulate all the teachers, non-academic staff, students’ union officials and students on getting the NAAC grade. Now a new pattern of development will be prepared in the college. Our aim next time will be to take ‘A’ grade from NAAC” said the Principal of DAV College.
