People bid tearful adieu to martyred soldier from Champawat

Rahul Ranswal, a soldier of 18 Kumaon Regiment of Champawat’s Riyasibaman village, who was killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama, was cremated at Dipteshwar Ghat on Thursday with military honors. During this time, everyone involved in the procession of the martyred soldier shouted anti-Pak slogans. Fire for the pyre was given by Rajendra Singh and Jai Singh, the grandfather of the martyr. Thousands of people bid farewell to the martyr with moist eyes. The Ordinance Unit gave the Guard of Honor.

For the first time in Shaheed Rahul’s last glimpse, most women reached the crematorium after breaking taboos. Thousands of people gathered in the martyr’s last journey. Everyone involved at the funeral wept bitterly. Rahul Rainswal (26), resident of Riyasibaman village of Champawat, along the Nepal border, was killed in an encounter with militants on January 21 in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir.

Searching the terrorists, Rahul was attacked by a terrorist hiding behind a woman in the house. The terrorist shot directly at Rahul’s forehead. The mortal body of Shaheed Rahul Ranswal wrapped in the tricolor was brought by an Air Force helicopter on Thursday morning to the Fifth Corps of SSB at Champawat. All the family members, including wife Preeti, mother Haru Devi, army brother Rajesh and both sisters, were in inconsolable. In the afternoon, the funeral procession was taken from Kanalgaon to Dipteshwar Ghat, in which thousands of people paid their last respects to the martyr with moist eyes. Both elders of heavy hearted relationship lit the pyre.

The angry youth said that due to the nefarious antics of Pakistan, the soldiers of the country have to be martyred. If Pakistan is not taught a lesson now, the youth will have to go out to teach themselves. During this time, people saluted the spirit of the soldiers of the Indian Army. In honor of the martyrdom of Shaheed Rahul Ranswal, traders kept their establishments closed throughout the day. There was silence in other markets of the district on Thursday.
