Due to the storm ‘Dennis’ winds speeds reached 150 km per hour in many places on Sunday. 5.5 inches of rain was recorded in 24 hours, causing flooding in many places. Vehicles got stuck due to water logging in many places including Yorkshire. The meteorological department said- this storm may intensify. In view of this, flood warnings have been issued at 200 locations across Scotland’s Tweed River to southwest England. The army has been deployed to help the people in the flood affected areas. British Airways and Easy Jet have put all their aircraft in the ground in view of the storm.
Britain’s Defense Minister Ben Wallace said – Our military is always ready to help local authorities. Security forces have been deployed in West Yorkshire and northern England since the Ciara storm last week.
According to the Meteorological Department, this storm is more dangerous than the Ciara storm that came last week. So far two people have died while many are missing. Army boats and Royal Navy ships are being taken for rescue work. The level of the three rivers bordering Spain has risen significantly. People living around these rivers are being evacuated to safer places.
