Uttarakhand cabinet takes important decisions amidst coronavirus lockdown

In view of Coronavirus lockdown throughout the state, four medical colleges Doon, Srinagar, Haldwani and Almora have been reserved by the government. Private colleges will also be acquired if needed. This decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting. At the same time, it was also decided in the meeting that Rs 3 crore each will be given to four districts Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital Rs 2 crore each to the remaining districts, so that the District Magistrate can give ration to poor and needy people besides ration card holders.

A cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, in which several important decisions have been approved. After the meeting was over, the government spokesperson and cabinet minister Madan Kaushik talked to reporters and informed them about the decisions. With this, the work of sending one thousand rupees to the registered workers in their accounts has started.

Other cabinet decisions

  • Proposal sent to center to make IIP and AIIMS Rishikesh corona investigation a testing lab.
  • In three working medical colleges, the Principal given the authority to fill the Teaching Medical Faculty. Recruitment will be done through walk in interview.
  • District collectors were empowered to fill the vacant posts of doctors in district hospitals on outsourcing basis for 11 months.
  • All ration card holders will be given three months ration in the first week of April next month.
  • Request to private companies not to deduct EPF from salary of 4.5 lakh registered employees.
  • Decision to keep the session of the Legislative Assembly short

Proposal sent to make AIIMS Rishikesh sample research center

Lab will be set up at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) Dehradun to investigate deadly coronavirus. The cabinet has approved for this.
In order to check the corona virus in the state, the central government has approved medical college Haldwani for a sample investigation. Due to increasing cases of corona infection in the state, samples are being sent daily by the Health Department for examination.

But the investigation report of the samples is taking four to five days. The government has approved setting up a lab at AIIMS Rishikesh, IIP, to expedite the sample testing process. Along with this, a proposal has been sent to the Central Government for sample testing facility at Mahant Indresh Hospital, Ahuja Pathology Lab.
