Government asks private organizations to pay employee salary by April 15

The Uttarakhand government has granted extension till 15 April to those who do not pay salaries or wages to employees with private jobs. The Labor Department will then take action against factories, private institutions and contractors over non-payment of dues.

Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat said that the Central Government has instructed all industries, commercial institutions and contractors to pay full salary during the lockdown. On this basis, the labor department has issued instructions to pay the full salary of March and not to remove anyone from the job. It was earlier asked to pay the salaries by 7 April. But now the the date has been extended to 15 April. After this, legal action and FIR will be taken on the complaint of any employee. Non-payment of salary can be taken under section 188 of IPC, sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005, Pandemic Act 1897 and labor laws.
