Over 35 lakh pilgrims visit Chardham in 2022 season

All the records of devotees have been broken in the Chardham Yatra-2022, which started again after the Corona pandemic. By September 14 this year, the number of devotees coming from India and abroad has crossed 35 lakhs. Earlier in 2019, 34.5 devotees had reached Uttarakhand for the Chardham Yatra including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and Hemkunt Yatra.

Even in the rainy season, there is a huge crowd of pilgrims is going to Chardham Yatra. A total of 1232294 pilgrims had visited Badrinath Dham, which opened on May 8, while 1147,554 pilgrims visited the Kedarnath that opened on May 6. By taking advantage of the heli service, 99079 pilgrims have reached Kedarnath Dham for obeisance. Whereas, 525068 and 413592 devotees have visited Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham open on May 3 so far.

For the convenience of pilgrims by the Government of Uttarakhand- For the safety of Char Dham Yatra, online registration is being done on the website registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in or photometric registration from physical counters is being carried out on behalf of Uttarakhand Tourism.

Appeal to pilgrims

The Uttarakhand government has appealed to the pilgrims going on the Chardham Yatra to proceed on the yatra routes only after seeing the weather alert, the condition of the road including the National Highway and the rain situation. Stay in safe places in case of heavy rains and landslides. Don’t take risks while traveling. Also, take precautions under the Corona Guidelines during the journey like wearing of mask, maintaiing social distance and use of sanitizer.
