UPSC announces results of civil services 2019

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final result of Civil Services Examination 2019. Pradeep Singh has topped the exam. Jatin Kishore was in second place and Pratibha Verma in third place. This time a total of 829 candidates have been selected.

The shortlisted candidates include 304 candidates in General category, 78 candidates in EWS, 251 candidates in OBC, 129 SC and 67 candidates in ST category. Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for exams to become IAS and IPS.

UPSC has placed 182 candidates in the reserve list.

There were 2,304 candidates for the UPSC exam for the year 2019. The interview for these students started from 17 February 2020 but due to Corona, the interview had to be stopped in March. After which interviews were held between July 20-30.

The UPSC exam is selected in three stages, in which candidates are selected by interviewing first, then main and last. Candidates are selected in many services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) after passing UPSC examination.
