Marriages becoming cause of concern for health department
Weddings have raised the health department’s concern among the increasing number of Corona patients. The department has come on alert mode after the people attending the wedding ceremony held in various cities of the state in the past, corona positive.
The Corona virus has been confirmed among those involved in marriage in Tehri, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar districts of Uttarakhand. After joining such a large number of people in the wedding ceremony, the department is now trying to identify and quarantine the suspects.
In Tehri district, 40 people have been quarantined after the driver ferried the passengers who attended the wedding ceremony tested Coronavirus positive. Mangesh Ghildiyal, DM of Tehri, said that the driver involved in the wedding was found to be Corona positive, after which all those involved in the wedding have been quarantined.
Significantly, the health department staff posted at the border had taken samples of the baraatis going to Anjansain from Punjab, in which the driver was confirmed to be Corona positive.
It is a matter of concern that the cases of contact tracing are constantly increasing, after which the department and administration have also come on alert mode.
Significantly, in the Udham Singh Nagar district, 70 corona patients have come up in the last two days. It is a matter of concern that most of the cases of Corona are related to the marriage held in Kashipur.
To curb the growing cases of Corona virus in the district, the administration has imposed a lockdown in Rudrapur and Kashipur for the next three days. DM of Udhamsingh Nagar district Neeraj Khairwal said that a lockdown has been imposed to curb the growing cases of Corona.
It was informed that barring drugstores and essential goods shops, there will be a complete lockdown in Rudrapur and Kashipur. Significantly, Corona has been confirmed in a doctor and employee in Rudrapur.
The city’s merchant organizations are also in favor of a lockdown to curb the growing cases of Corona. ASP Devendra has also given strict instructions to the employees to be vigilant by visiting the areas connected with UP border area of the district.
At the same time, Dr. Rajiv Dixit, the Nodal Officer of Corona in Dehradun, says that people involved in the wedding ceremony have been quarantined after increase in number of cases.
71 cases detected on Monday
As per the daily health bulletin issued, 71 new corona positive cases were detected in the state on Monday, July 13. Taking the state tally to 3608. 70 patients were discharged after being cured. The maximum number of cases were found in Udham Singh Nagar district (38), followed by Haridwar (11), Dehradun (6), Nainital (6), Pauri (5), Almora (2), Chamoli (1) and Tehri (1).
The recovery rate from Corona in the state was 79.16%.
