Orange alert issued for 8 districts on 26 August

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall on August 26 in eight districts including Dehradun in the state. At the same time, from 25 to 28 August, more than five districts of the state including Dehradun are expected to receive heavy rain and lightning.

In Uttarakhand, there have been continuous rains in August. There is a possibility of continuous rains in Dehradun district. Whereas, there is a possibility of increase in rain in the mountainous districts of the state. This can cause landslides in mountainous areas.

According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, from August 25 to 28, most of the districts in the state can get rain. On August 25, there may be heavy to very heavy rains in Dehradun, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag districts.

Orange alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been given on 26 August in Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Tehri, Nainital, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts.

During this time, celestial lightning can also fall in isolated places. On 27 August, heavy rains and celestial lightning are expected at Dehradun, Pauri, Haridwar, Tehri, Nainital, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.

Whereas on August 28, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun and Nainital districts.
