Health ministry issues guidelines to be followed at Haridwar Kumbh

The Union Health Ministry has released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Kumbh Mela 2021 to be held in Haridwar. It has been written in the SOP that the Kumbh Mela can start from 27 February till 30 April 2021. Devotees will have to bring a negative RT-PCR test report (not older than 72 hours) of Corona, only then entry will be allowed in the fair. It is likely that 10 lakh people will come daily during the fair, while 50 lakh people can come during the festival bath or royal bath. The Uttrakhand Government will have to ensure that only those health workers and front line workers are posted at the Kumbh Mela, who have got the Corona vaccine.

Uttarakhand government will have to undertake this yatra on the lines of Amarnath Yatra. That is, all the pilgrims will be registered and must bring a medical certificate. That is, the devotees who want to come to the Kumbh Mela, they will have to register with the Uttarakhand government and also have to bring a medical certificate from their nearest community health center or district hospital or medical college. The Uttarakhand government will have to promote this thing well in all states.

Those pilgrims who do not bring medical certificates will not be allowed to enter the Kumbh Mela. People above 65 years of age, pregnant women, children below 10 years and people suffering from chronic serious illness should be discouraged from visiting the Kumbh Mela. State government employees whose age is more, pregnant women or employees suffering from chronic critical illness, these people should not be engaged in any frontline work or work where there is direct connection with the public.
