Team India clean sweeps Sri Lanka 3-0; record highest run margin win in 3rd ODI
India defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs in the third ODI played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. This is the biggest win by runs in ODI history. Earlier this record was in the name of New Zealand. They beat Ireland by 290 runs in 2008. At the same time, the previous record of the Indian team was a 257-run win, which they achieved against Bermuda in 2007.
Batting first after winning the toss, India scored 390 runs in 50 overs losing five wickets. Shubman Gill scored 116 runs and Virat Kohli played an unbeaten inning of 166 runs. In reply, the Sri Lankan team scored 73 runs in 22 overs. Ashen Bandara could not come on the field due to injury. In this way Team India won by 317 runs.
