11 deaths, 588 cases reported in Uttarakhand on 28 August

In Uttarakhand, 11 corona-infected patients died on Friday, while 588 more were found infected. In Dehradun district, a record of 185 corona patients were found in a single day. The number of infected in the state has reached 17 thousand 865. Of these, 12 thousand 124 patients have been cured.

According to the report released by the Health Department, 7140 samples were found negative on Friday. 185 corona patients have been found in Dehradun district. At the same time, 120 have been found infected in Haridwar, 72 in Udham Singh Nagar, 58 in Chamoli, 55 in Nainital, 26 in Tehri, 18 in Pauri, 13 in Almora district. 12 patients each have been found in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh, six each in Champawat and Uttarkashi and five in Rudraprayag district.

Today 11 corona patients have died in the state. Eight in AIIMS Rishikesh, one in Doon Medical College and two in Sushila Tiwari Medical College Haldwani have succumbed during treatment. The dead include 10 men and a woman. So far 239 corona infected patients have died in the state. At the same time, 349 patients have been sent home today after treatment, while 12124 patients have been cured.

Infection rate increased by 0.31 percent in 15 days in the state

The number of patients suffering from corona is increasing continuously in the state. The infection rate has increased 0.31 percent in the last 15 days. Nainital district ranks first in the state in infection rate. Nainital has an infection rate of 8.25 percent. At the same time, Rudraprayag district has the lowest infection rate of 1.80 percent.

Haridwar district ranks first, Udham Singh Nagar second and Dehradun district third in cases of coron infection.

About 3.25 lakh samples have been tested from March 15 to August 27 in the state. Initially the rate of infection was low, but now patients are increasing daily with the increase in testing numbers. In Haridwar, the total number of infected people has reached beyond four thousand. If the infection increases at this pace, the total number of patients in the state will reach 30 thousand by the end of September. According to an estimate, even if the recovery rate is around 75 percent, the active cases will increase rapidly. The number of active cases will be more than seven and a half thousand in September. Meanwhile, the backlog of the sample is also a cause for concern. Around 16,000 samples are pending investigation in various labs.
