Summer vacations announced in all schools of Uttarakhand
Troubled by the havoc of Corona, the government has declared summer vacation till June 30 in all government, private and aided private schools in Uttarakhand. On the instructions of Education Minister Arvind Pandey, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram issued orders in this regard on Saturday. Summer vacation will be applicable to all day and boarding schools.
The spread of the corona is not stopping in the state. It is worrisome that Corona has spread foot in urban areas as well as in remote rural areas. In view of the second wave of Corona, the Department of Higher Education has declared summer vacation ahead of schedule. Now the Education Department has also taken a step in this direction. Education Minister Arvind Pandey instructed Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram to declare summer vacation almost 24 days in advance. The Education Secretary on Saturday issued an order in this regard for the Director General of Education, the three directors of the Education Department, all the District Magistrates, the Secretary of the Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad and all the Chief Education Officers.
The mandate stated that the duration of summer vacation has been extended in view of the continuous increase in corona infection. Earlier, the summer vacation had been in force since June 1. This time it has been implemented from Saturday, May 8. The government has kept open the option for private schools to continue studies through online channels. These schools will be able to conduct online classes at their convenience. This system will be applicable for this session.
