Tokyo Olympics: India’s schedule and medal prospects on July 27

Today was not a special day for India in Tokyo Olympics. India’s star table tennis players Manika Batra and Sutirtha Mukherjee crashed out in straight games in women’s singles. However, Sharath Kamal reached the third tour and now Sharath is the only hope of a medal in table tennis. Indian athletes had a dissapointing outing in other sports as well. Tennis player Sumit Nagal who became the first Indian in 25 years to win the first round match in tennis lost to number 2 seed Daniil Medvedev. C.A Bhavani Devi who rewrote record books with her representation of India in the sport of fencing had a great first round match winning 15-3 however she lost to world number 3 Manon Brunet of France in the second round. Now on the fifth day everyone will have hopes from Sharath Kamal and the team of Saurabh Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker.
