Incessant rains cause water logging in many parts of Doon

Today the weather is bad and cloudy in most areas in Uttarakhand. It rained in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Dehradun. It rained continuously since morning in Dehradun. Waterlogging was reported in Sahasradhara. On receiving the information, the SDRF team left for relief. At the same time, it rained for several hours in Dehradun which caused hindrance in smooth flow of traffic.

Incessant rain for several hours resulted in waterlogging in a dozen areas. People had to face a lot of trouble due to waterlogging at many intersections including Dilaram Chowk, Survey Chowk, Ghantaghar, Maharaja Agrasen Chowk, Kargi Chowk.

Cloud burst in Rishikesh

At the same time, there has been an incident of cloudburst reported in Katal village of Shivpuri in Rishikesh. Here the bridge and electric poles have been washed away due to the cloudburst incident. Many villages have been cut off from Shivpuri. According to the information, due to cloudburst late on Tuesday night, the bridge, electric pole and pedestrian path in Katal village of Narendra Nagar block were washed away. At present there is no casualty report here.

On Tuesday night, there has been a lot of damage due to cloudburst incident in Khabarwala of Santala Devi area of ​​Dehradun. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived to visit the disaster-hit area.

Water level rises in Rishikesh

The Ganges and its tributaries Bein, Chandrabhaga, Song and Henwal rivers have come in spate due to the torrential rains since Tuesday evening. Ganga is flowing below the warning line. The settlements on the banks of Chandrabhaga and Ganga have come under threat. SDRF and disaster management team have been alerted by the government. The situation is under control everywhere.

Badrinath Highway closed at many places

Badrinath National Highway between Devprayag to Rishikesh is blocked due to debris at many places. Due to heavy rain on Tuesday night, debris has come at many places on the highway. The Rishikesh-Badrinath highway has been closed since last night due to debris in Tota Ghati and Kaudiyala. Traffic has been affected on Gangotri and Badrinath highways due to torrential rains in the hilly region since Wednesday morning.  Traffic was smooth on Kedarnath Highway.
