Indian squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup announced

The Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 has been announced. The BCCI announced the team on Wednesday. In the team led by Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Ashwin have got a place in the 15-man squad. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw have not found a place in the team. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer has got a place in the team as a standby. Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also not been selected in the T20 World Cup squad.

KL Rahul has got a place in the 15-man squad. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan have been included in the team as wicketkeepers. Among the fast bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami have been included in the team. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the team as all-rounders. Young faces like Axar Patel, Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakraborty have also found a place in the team. Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur have been included in the team as stand-byes. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the best captains of India, has been appointed by the BCCI as the mentor of the team in the T20 World Cup.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman from 17 October. This T20 World Cup is to be played in the hosting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In this event, India will play its first match against Pakistan on 24 October. A total of 16 teams are participating in this event and a total of 45 matches will be played. The final match is to be played on 14 November. India is placed in Group 2, which also includes Afghanistan, New Zealand and Pakistan.
