Doonites could face hefty fines for not having dog license

There is an important news for dog lovers. If you have more than three dogs in your house then your problems may increase. There is a new rule for dog owners in Dehradun. Under this, one will get permission to have a maximum of two or three dogs. The proposal has been approved in the executive meeting of the Municipal Corporation (Nagar Nigam Dehradun). The rules will come into force as soon as the corporation board gets the green signal. The number of pet dogs in the city is continuously increasing. In view of this, the Municipal Corporation is preparing to implement the new rule.

According to a survey, there are about 35 thousand pet dogs in the city at present. Whereas licenses have been issued to very few dogs comparatively. Dogs litter all over the place while going for walks. Grow at other people too. When the guests come to the neighbors’ place, there is discomfort because of the dogs. Recently, the team of the corporation came to know during the survey that not 2-3 but 8 to ten dogs have been reared in many houses.

This annoys the people around. Their barking at night disturbs the sleep of the neighbors. There is a plethora of complaints in the corporation. Considering the gravity of the matter, a proposal was brought to determine the number of domesticated dogs in the households. The executive committee has accepted the proposal.

Apart from this, registration of pet dog is also mandatory. If you have not done this till now, then you could face a fine ranging from five hundred rupees to 5 thousand rupees. The proceedings of the trial will also take place for the third time. More than 50 thousand stray dogs in the city have also become a cause of panic. Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama said that the maximum number of pet dogs is being fixed. Apart from this, challan action will also be taken against those who do not register the pet dog. Four teams have been formed for this.
