Uttarakhand’s first signature bridge to be constructed on Rishikesh-Badrinath highway

The first curved bridge of Uttarakhand state is being built at Narkota on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. Under the All Weather Road Project, the construction of a 110 meter long bridge at a cost of Rs 64 crore is in full swing. The target has been set to operate vehicles from the bridge by May 2024.

Under the All Weather Road Project, a curved motor bridge is being constructed at Narkota on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. For its safety, there will be a safety cable on both the sides and from the upper side.

The design of this signature bridge will be its main attraction. The construction of this 110 meter span bridge has been going on for the last 11 months, the work of both the pillars of which is in the final stage.

Work started from January 2023

The bridge has been in controversy since its approval. This signature bridge has been in controversy since the beginning. The work on the pillars on the Rudraprayag side of the bridge had started, but the work on the pillars on the Srinagar side was yet to be completed.

There was a land dispute. Here the design of the pillar had to be changed twice. The design was changed after testing the soil again in December 2022 and work started from January 2023.
