Uttarakhand wins 3 awards in tourism categories
In the field of tourism, Uttarakhand has won prestigious national level awards in three categories. In this, the state has received awards for Best Wildlife, Best Adventure and Best Spiritual Destination. Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy presented the awards to Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj on Friday.
Different awards given in nine categories
In the Tourism Survey and Awards program, the best tourist destinations of the country were given different awards in nine categories. Out of these, Uttarakhand has received three awards.
Jim Corbett National Park of the state was declared as Best Wildlife Destination, Rishikesh as Best Adventure Destination and Kedarnath as Best Spiritual Destination. Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, initiatives are being taken to promote the country’s tourism at the international level as well as domestic tourism.
After receiving the award, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that since Corona pandemic subsided, Uttarakhand has emerged as a major center in the field of tourism, wellness tourism and AYUSH. Uttarakhand has been attracting tourists from India and abroad for centuries with its natural beauty.
Adventure tourism has immense potential in Uttarakhand
Satpal Maharaj said that Uttarakhand has immense potential for adventure tourism. Uttarakhand is becoming one of the favorite places for adventure lovers. Keeping this in mind the government is promoting adventure sports.
Jim Corbett National Park a great destination: Maharaj
Maharaj said that Jim Corbett National Park which is a great destination for wildlife lovers as well as nature lovers. Where tourists experience a different of enthusiasm and excitement along with adventure. Getting awards in three categories in the tourism sector is a big achievement for Uttarakhand.
The Tourism Minister said that as per the guidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reconstruction works are being done in Kedarnath Dham. Due to which the devotees coming to Kedarnath will get facilities in future. The government has planned to promote winter tourism. Due to which after the closure of the Chardham Yatra, their alternative pilgrimage sites have to be developed as winter Chardham.
