IIT Roorkee student gets Rs 2.15 crore salary package
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is no less than other IITs in terms of campus placements. Here on the first day, a student of the institute has got an annual international package of 2.15 crores. This package is by far the highest among the students of the institute. Till now no student has received the package of 2.15 crores. Earlier, the students of the institute have got a package of maximum 1.5 crores. Apart from this, on the very first day of campus placement, three students have received domestic packages ranging from 1.30 crores to 1.8 crores. While there are 11 students who have got an annual package of more than one crore. There has been a wave of happiness in the institute due to the boom in placements during the Corona period. Online campus placements started at IIT Roorkee from Wednesday. On the first day of campus placement, a student of the institute received an annual international package of 2.15 crores. As of last Wednesday, a total of 450 offers were received by the students of the institute, including 13 international offers.
35 companies participated in IIT Roorkee on the first day of campus placements. This year the placement of IIT Roorkee has been much better than the previous year and last year the number of children who got jobs in companies through the placement drive, this year the number is more, due to which the students are also very excited. Compared to last year, IIT Roorkee has seen a jump of 80 per cent in domestic offers and 40 per cent in international offers in campus placements this year. Professor Vinay Sharma, in-charge of Placement and Internship Cell of IIT Roorkee said that on the first day of campus placements which started from December 1, a student of the institute has received an international package of 2.15 crores. The confidence of students has been boosted and they are participating in campus placements with great enthusiasm. He said that the institute has taken full care that the child should not be affected by the adverse circumstances arising during the corona pandemic. This placement drive, which started from 1st December, will continue till 15th December. The campus placements include companies like Amazon, Apple, APT Portfolio Pvt Ltd, Bajaj Auto Ltd, Intel Technologies, ITC Ltd, Jaguar Land Rover, JPMC Quant, Mercedes Benz, Micron Technologies Operations India LLP, Microsoft, Tata Steel etc.
