Uttarakhand weather update: Rain, snowfall expected in state in next 24 hours

In Uttarakhand, the weather pattern is expected to change in the hilly areas as well as in the plains in the next 24 hours. Meteorologists have predicted snowfall along with light rain at isolated places in the high altitude areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Rudraprayag.

According to Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of snowfall along with light rain in the next 24 hours in the areas above 3500 meters. If this happens, then the cold can increase in the plains too. He told that the capital Doon will be cloudy. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in some areas.

The effect of the activity of Western Disturbance in the state will be seen in the form of rain and snowfall. In most cities, the temperature can drop by one to two degrees Celsius. The weather remained clear in most areas of the state on Sunday, although the chill has increased in the mountains amid moderate winds. Capital Dehradun saw intermittent rainfall on Monday. The effect of cold is also being seen in the plains. In the last few days, there have been two to three rounds of snowfall in the higher reaches of the state. The temperature has also dropped in the hilly districts of Kumaon. Due to rain and snowfall in the mountainous areas, the temperature is expected to drop further.
