Ganesh Godiyal resigns as Uttarakhand president of Congress

Everyone is aware of the defeat of Congress in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, now the Congress high command has taken a big decision. It was reported that resignation of Congress Presidents of 5 states including Uttarakhand has been sought.

On the other hand, Ganesh Godiyal resigned even before the decision of the Congress high command. He has written in a letter that “being the state president, I take responsibility for the defeat and resign from the post of Congress state president”. Earlier the Congress had to face a bad defeat in the election results. Before the results, the Congress was being projected as a strong party in the exit polls and opinion polls but nothing like this happened. Now after the defeat, the process of resignations has also started in the Congress. Uttarakahnd State President Ganesh Godiyal has resigned.

 

He said that ‘taking moral responsibility for the party’s defeat in the assembly elections held in the state, I have submitted my resignation’. Godiyal said that ‘I wanted to resign on the day of the result but stayed on waiting for the order of the high command.’

Reaching Delhi today, ‘as soon as it came to know that the resignations have been sought from the accountable office bearers of all other states. I have also submitted my resignation.’ He said that as a Congress worker, I will continue to fight. In the meeting held on Tuesday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi sought the resignations of the PCC presidents of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. She asked them to tender their resignations for the reorganization of the PCC.
