Opening date of Kedarnath portals for 2022 announced

The opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham has been fixed for the year 2022. The doors of Kedarnath temple will open at 6.25 am on Friday, May 6.

Kedarnath Rawal has announced the date in Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, the site of Panchkedar Gaddi. According to ancient tradition, every year on the day of Mahashivratri, the day of opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham is taken out in Omkareshwar temple, Ukhimath. Lord Bhairavnath will be worshiped on May 2 to open the doors of Kedarnath Dham. Baba Kedar’s procession will first leave from Ukhimath and reach Phata on 3rd May for rest. Whereas it will reach Gaurikund on May 4 and Kedarnath on May 5, where the doors of Lord Kedarnath temple will be opened on May 6 at 6.25 am. The doors of Chardham including Kedarnath are closed every year in October-November in winter, which are opened again for devotees in April-May next year.
