Uttarakhand reels under record breaking heat in March

Summer has just arrived in Uttarakhand and the temperature is breaking records in the first fortnight of March itself. The maximum and minimum temperatures have increased the most in 12 years.

The temperature in Uttarakhand remains four to six degrees Celsius above normal. For the first time in the last five years, it has crossed 31 degree Celsius in the first fortnight of March. Due to this the weather remains dry and bright sunshine is also increasing the temperatures from mountains to plains. In such a situation, the minimum and maximum temperatures have also increased rapidly in the last two weeks. In other plains including Doon, the maximum temperature remains above 30 degree Celsius. Whereas, on Tuesday it reached 32 degree Celsius. Which is the highest in the first fortnight of March in five years.

Apart from this, the temperature in most areas has remained four to six degrees Celsius above normal for the last one week. For the first time in the last 12 years, the temperature remained two to six degrees Celsius above normal for the entire fortnight. According to the Meteorological Center, the reason for the increase in mercury is the weakening of Western Disturbance. This rise in temperature is likely to continue for the next two to three days. After March 20, there is a possibility of a slight fall in the mercury. The maximum temperature in Dehradun is 32.0 and the minimum temperature is 17.4. The maximum temperature in Haridwar is 31.6 and the minimum temperature is 15.6. Talking about US Nagar, 32.0 maximum temperature and 14.2 degree minimum temperature are going on here. The maximum temperature in Nainital was 22.3 and the minimum temperature was 11.7. Mussoorie recorded a maximum temperature of 21.7 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius.
