Educational institutions to be closed in UP till Dec 24 due to cold weather

It has been decided to keep all educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh closed till December 24 due to the increasing cold weather and protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Christmas will be a holiday on 25th. For this reason, educational institutions will now open on 26 December. Mobile internet will be closed on December 23 in about one and a half dozen cities of the state. Closed internet service will be restored after 12 pm on 23 December.

Due to snowfall in the mountains these days the plains are reeling under a cold wave. Alongwith the cold, fog is also wreaking havoc in the plains. However, during the day there was light sunshine but cold and cloudy weather was seen. Meteorologists say there will be no relief from cold as fog increases. For this reason, a holiday has been declared till December 24 in the educational institutions of the state.

Educational institutions ranging from nursery schools to university level in the capital Lucknow will have a holiday till December 24 due to the cold. DM Abhishek Prakash said that it has been done due to cold. Sources say that this has been done on the instructions of the government due to the ruckus in the capital. Educational institutions will now open on 26 December after the Christmas holiday.

Holiday till 5 January in Prayagraj

Due to the cold wave, the Prayagraj district administration has ordered the closure of all schools from nursery to 12th till January 5. District Basic Education Officer Sanjay Kumar Kushwaha said on Sunday that on the orders of District Magistrate Bhanu Chandra Goswami, instructions have been given to keep all schools closed from December 23 to January 5 due to the severe cold. Principals of council schools have been asked to strictly follow this in the instructions issued.
