Kumaon University convocation 2022 to be held on 27 May

In the convocation ceremony of Kumaon University 2022, 58,640 students will be awarded degrees. The function will be held on May 27 at 10:30 am at AN Singh Auditorium, DSB Complex, Nainital. In which the Governor and the Chancellor will confer the titles. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat will also attend the function. During this, 410 PhD holders will be awarded research degrees. The registration of PhD, DLit, DSC and Medal recipients will be held on May 25 and 26 from 10 am to 4 pm in the Physics Department while rehearsals will be held on 26th only.

In a press conference held at the University Administrative Building on Monday, Vice Chancellor Prof NK Joshi gave information about the preparations for the ceremony. He said that degrees and medals would be awarded to the students of academic session 2019-20 and 2020-21 at the function. Chancellor’s medals will be given to 120 meritorious students. Cash prize will be given to five of them.

The Naval and Army Wings of NCC will give Guard of Honor to the guests. From the point of view of security, all the guests will have to compulsorily bring the invitation card. The Vice Chancellor said that till now no decision has been taken regarding the honorary degree. It will be considered in the Executive Council meeting after two days. The preparations for the ceremony are being finalised. The rehearsal will take place on 26 May.
