Uttarakhand government tables 65000 crore budget; know details

The second session of the fifth assembly of Uttarakhand began on Tuesday. On the very first day of the session, the government of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented the budget proposal for the financial year 2022-23 on the table of the assembly. Finance Minister Premchand Agrawal presented a budget of 65 thousand crores in the house.

On Tuesday, the Finance Minister arrived in the House in traditional attire to present the budget. Finance Minister Premchand Agrawal presented the budget of 65,571.49 crores. There was a special focus on women and youth in the budget of the Dhami government. In March, the government came out with the vote on account for the first quarter. Now the government brought the budget for the remaining period.

In the cabinet meeting, the government had approved a budget proposal of about Rs 63 thousand crore for the financial year. The opposition created a ruckus outside the house even before the assembly session began on Tuesday. Opposition leaders, including the Leader of the Opposition, raised slogans and demonstrated against the non-conduction of the session in Gairsain. At around 4 pm, the government presented the budget on the floor of the House.

Inauguration of special room for women in the assembly building

On the first day of the Vidhan Sabha session, Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan inaugurated a special room for women in the Vidhan Sabha building in view of the convenience of women legislators, officers and women media persons. As soon as she became the Speaker of the Assembly, Ritu Khanduri had expressed her desire on a priority basis to set up a special room for women MLAs, officers and women media persons in the assembly premises. In the sequence in which today the special room was inaugurated by the Speaker of the Assembly.
