Alert issued as heavy rain forecast in most districts of Uttarakhand for 2 days

The Uttarakhand Emergency Operations Center has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas of eight districts of the state including Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri over the next two days.

In this regard, instructions have been issued to all the district collectors to take precautions. In a letter issued by the Joint Secretary of the Center, Pradeep Joshi, there was a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain and lightning at some places at some places in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital, Udhamsinghnagar, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Chamoli.

In such circumstances, measures have been asked to take public safety. District magistrates have been asked to control the movement of people, take immediate terrestrial action on the situation of disaster and accident and inform the control room. Designated officers have been asked to be on alert for all IAS systems of disaster management.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at many places on Wednesday in four districts of the state. Apart from this, celestial lightning is also expected to fall in many places. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert.

According to the weather center, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Nainital Udham Singh Nagar district may receive heavy rains at many places. Apart from this, celestial lightning is also expected to fall in some places.

Landslides continue to hit the roads in the state. Rudraprayag remained cloudy in the entire district including Kedarnath on Wednesday. Gaurikund Highway is also blocked for the fourth day at Banswara, Dolia Devi, Munkatiya. The journey on Kedarnath trekking route remained open. There is still rain in Chamoli. Badrinath Highway is closed at Peepalkoti,  Bhanarpani, Lambagadh . On the other hand, Chopta Gopeshwar Motor Road is also closed ahead of Mandal.

Gangotri highway in Uttarkashi is also closed due to landslide debris. In Pithoragarh district, the Thal-Munsiyari, Tawaghat-Lipulekh road, Nachni-Bansabgarh road connecting the China border is also closed for movement. Ganga has crossed the warning mark in Haridwar. The administration is cautious in view of the situation. Life is disturbed due to incessant rains and landslides in the state. More than 100 roads in Garhwal and Kumaon are blocked by debris.
