Rains likely in 6 districts of Uttarakhand on October 5

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be one or two spells of heavy rainfall in the state before the departure of monsoon. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert on October 5. There is an alert of rains in 6 districts of the state namely Nainital, Bageshwar, Almora, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat ie the entire Kumaon region. Somewhere there can be loss of life and property due to lightning. Monsoon has also retreated from many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The weather in Uttarakhand has also been dry for the last several days. Monsoon is also expected to depart from Uttarakhand by October 10. Due to heavy rains in the season, disaster-like situations were seen in many places in the state. The roads which were closed due to landslides at many places have not been opened yet. Landslides are also taking place in Jaunsar-Bawar of Dehradun district.

Earlier the crops were damaged due to the disaster and the people whose crops were saved, now they are also unable to take their crops to the market due to the closure of the road. This monsoon the country has received six percent more rainfall than the average during the monsoon period. 19 states including Uttarakhand have received normal, 10 states above normal, one very high and six states have received less rainfall in monsoon season of 2022.
