World heading towards ‘climate chaos’ warns UN Secretary General

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the world was heading towards climate chaos. On Thursday, he called on world leaders to help improve the environment by showing commitment to cut gas emissions at the climate summit starting in Egypt. Along with this, he told developed countries that they should help developing countries move towards renewable energy by fulfilling their funding promise.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations was speaking at the 27th Annual Conference of the United Nations General Assembly. He said, ‘We should move forward by building trust with each other to keep the environment clean.’ Guterres said the International Climate Conference (COP27), which begins in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on November 6, should show a strong political will to cut gas emissions. On this occasion, there is a need for a historic agreement between rich developed countries and developing countries.
