Arjun Tendulkar follows Sachin’s footsteps; scores century on debut

Arjun Tendulkar has started his first class career with a century. In a Ranji Trophy match, he played an aggressive inning against Rajasthan while playing for Goa on Wednesday. With this, he also matched a feat achieved by his legendary father Sachin Tendulkar 34 years ago. Now, the father-son duo have hit centuries in their debut Ranji matches. Arjun, 23, completed his century in 178 balls. Hit 12 fours and 2 sixes. Goa has also scored 420 runs in the first innings. Now the team is eyeing victory.

After batting, Arjun would also like to leave a mark as a left-arm fast bowler against Rajasthan. Sachin Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 100 in the first innings against Gujarat in 1988. Arjun was dismissed after scoring 120 runs off 207 balls. Sachin did not get a chance to bat in the second innings. He scored a century off 129 balls. Had hit 12 fours. There was a 3-day draw played between Bombay and Gujarat. Now the league round of Ranji Trophy is being played for 4 days instead of 3.

In the match between Goa and Rajasthan, on the first day on Tuesday, Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl. At the end of the first day’s play, Goa had scored 210 runs for 5 wickets. Arjun Tendulkar was unbeaten after scoring 4 runs.
