Alert issued in Gujarat over cyclonic storm ‘Vayu’

Cyclonic storm is moving towards the side of Gujarat. This time the name of the storm is kept by India. The Pakistan Meteorological Department said that it will not have much impact on Pakistani shores. But due to this, heat wave (heat) can increase in coastal areas of Pakistan. This hurricane can increase in intensity and create a cyclone of Category 3.

Cyclonic storm is moving towards the side of Gujarat and Pakistan. Between 12 and 13 June it can knock on the Saurashtra coast. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), its speed is currently 80 to 90 km per hour. But reaching the Saurashtra coast, it will increase its speed to 110 to 135 kmph. At the same time, Pakistan Meteorological Department’s expert Abdur Rashid said that it will not have much effect on Pakistani shores. But due to this, heat wave (heat) can increase in coastal areas of Pakistan. This hurricane can go ahead and create a cyclone of Category 3.

Abdur Rashid told that the cyclonic storm will become the area of ​​pressure in the Arabian Sea due to the wind. For this reason, heat may increase in Pakistani coastal areas. Right now there is a temperature of 35 to 37 degrees, which can go up to 40 to 42 degrees Celsius. The same happened in June 2015 too. Because of this, there was a terrible heat in Karachi for five days. During the month of Ramadan, water was shortened due to the heat in the month. 3000 people were killed in Karachi.

No cyclone has hit Gujarat directly for last 10 years

2010 – Cyclone Phet

Gujarat is always in the harms way of cyclonic storms before and after monsoon. But, for the last 10 years, no cyclone has hit Gujarat directly. Cyclone Phet, which came in June 2010, came to Gujarat and moved towards Oman. Turned back, threatened to make landfall in Gujarat and went towards Pakistan.

2017 – Ockhi

Cyclone Ockhi came in November of the year 2017. This wreaked havoc in Kerala and Tamilnadu on a widespread scale. Hundreds of people were killed. Then it turned towards Gujarat through the Arabian Sea. All emergency preparedness was done in Gujarat. But the cyclone died down before reaching Gujarat.

Emergency services in Gujarat on alert

According to the officials of the Meteorological Department, due to cyclone in Saurashtra and Kutch, storm and heavy rain will occur. The state government has called an emergency meeting amid fears of loss in the coastal areas. At the same time, fishing has also been banned. Warnings have also been issued for ports. With low pressure in the Arabian Sea, between 12 and 14 June, there is a possibility of cyclone in coastal areas of Veraval, Jamnagar, Mangrol, Porbandar and Amreli districts. Cyclonic storm can be faster in the next 24 hours. This cyclonic storm could turn into a severe cyclone in the next 24 hours.
